Ukraine Today

Ukraine Today is a Ukraine-based private international satellite television channel broadcasting in English. The channel, which is owned by the Ukrainian 1+1 group and headquartered in Kyiv, presents round-the-clock news bulletins aimed at the overseas news market. The General Producer is Tetiana Pushnova.
== History and launch ==
The channel has its origins in two previous English-language news channels owned by 1+1 Media and its majority shareholder Ihor Kolomoyskyi; Jewish News 1, which closed on the 22 April 2014, and the intermediary channel Ukraine News 1 which closed in June 2014.〔http://variety.com/2014/tv/global/cable-net-jewish-news-one-shutters-to-become-ukraine-news-1-1201164174/〕 Ten journalists of Jewish News 1 then moved over the new channel.〔(August 27, 2014 ''Ukraine Today aims to clarify Russian media misinformation'' ); Columbia Journalism Review
Ukraine Today began broadcasting on the 14th August 2014, with a live stream on YouTube and broadcast via the Eutelsat Hot Bird satellite, displaying a testcard and scrolling text giving information on how to receive the channel. On Ukrainian Independence Day, the 24th August, the channel had its official launch, when it began broadcasting news content.
